About an hour and a half from Nairobi on a good run. The last stretch climbs — take it slowly and you will be fine in any car.
Driving from Nairobi
- Take the A104 out through Uthiru and Kikuyu, heading for Naivasha.
- At the top of the escarpment, turn off at the Mai Mahiu viewpoint — the one with the curio stalls and the old Italian chapel signposted below.
- Follow the Kijabe road north for about 9km, past the hospital and the school.
- Turn right at the Rock Ridge Gardens sign and climb 1.2km of murram to the gate. Free parking inside.
